Made in response to the Mayflower 400 anniversary celebration, this work steals images from Google Streetview of Plymouths all around the world. User-uploaded photos of significant historical locations are collaged together and distributed globally, branded with the tech giant’s logo.

The haunted legacy of colonialsm manifests in curious absences and erasures, in kitschy art adorning diner walls and unreadable museum interpretation texts.

An early generative AI hallucinates a Plymouth simultaneously pre-colonial and post-apocalyptic; of virgin shores, fuzzy vegetation and cigarette burns.
